Robin, could you smell him? Was it a skunk or a badger? Do you even have badgers? I once confused the two and Fish and Game told me to run like hell if I came across a badger. YIKES!

Wow... lucky you! I'm sure that the paps would have had much better luck catching him than they do the deer. :)

<em>Quite right you are. We always look outside before allowing our beasties outside the door.

I went to a trade show once and there was a man there with a skunk on his arm. Curious, very curious! Glad your pups avoided the spray.

Skunks are cute, but not up close & personal & not with dogs. My dogs never got sprayed, but one of them was stupid enough to roll in skunk spray. Oh, the stench!

Just dropped in to see your pretty pictures and had to laugh at this post. Glad your dogs didn't get out first! Have a wonderful holiday weekend, blessings, Kathleen

Thankfully indeed! We had one in our garage a few years back. It was during a garage sale of all things. It never did spray but didn't need to cause the fear alone drove everyone out. Loved your clever title to the post.

Yikes Robin! Have you ever seen a skunk in your yard before? I guess they do like cleaning up under the bird feeders.....

Ah, dog and skunk. Not a good combo at all! Usually one shot takes care of any dog attack, but not with my male Dalmatian. Oh no, he had to keep at it, till I think the skunk ran out of scent and just ran! I am yelling at the dog, dog is barking at the skunk, the skunk is shooting anything in sight! Took a week to get that smell of him.

Good thing you saw it before letting the dogs out. That would have been terrible! Skunks swarmed our campsite once, I was terrified to move a muscle.
